SIBELIUS-DARK: a galaxy catalogue of the local volume from a constrained realization simulation

We present SIBELIUS-DARK, a constrained realisation simulation of the local volume to distance 200~Mpc from Milky Way. SIBELIUS-DARK is first study \textit{Simulations Beyond The Local Universe} (SIBELIUS) project, which has goal embedding model Group-like system within correct cosmic environment. dark-matter-only, with galaxy population calculated using semi-analytic formation, GALFORM. demonstrate that large-scale structure emerges SIBELIUS initial conditions matches well observational data. inferred also match data, both statistically for whole and on an object-by-object basis most massive clusters. For example, $K$-band number counts across sky, when divided between northern southern Galactic hemispheres, are reproduced by SIBELIUS-DARK. find somewhat unusual in wider context $\Lambda$CDM: it contains abnormally high supermassive clusters, as overall underdensity at level $\approx 5$\% relative mean. However, whilst rare, extent these peculiarities does not significantly challenge $\Lambda$CDM model. comprehensive date, this paper we publicly release halo catalogues $z=0$, hope will be useful astronomy community.
